QUADDIE KING: CANTERBURY TIPS
MIDWEEK metropolitan racing in Sydney is at Canterbury today and we have a really tricky Quaddie to sort out for you. Let’s concentrate and try to work it out:
First leg: We start this Quaddie with a Benchmark 76 Handicap over 1550-metres:
WALK THE STREETS ($2.40) honest, placed three city runs on end before 4th Vaucluse Bay then 4th Diapason first-up from a long break. Fitter, strong claims.
REGINE ($4.60) resumed from break with close 8th Schubert, Warwick Farm before 5th of 8 Diapason, Canterbury when ran favourite. Fitter, run well.
MANA ($7.00) 3rd to Crafty Cop, Rosehill was good in May before last start 12 Missile Coda, Rosehill. Can do better than that, respect here from good gate.
BRACES ($8.00) better run last time when sat just off the speed and won well when long odds beating Desert Lord at Warwick Farm. Not hopeless again on that run.
CARLUCA ($11) Canterbury winner in December before break, ran 2nd in two strong trials, resumed with 2-length 9th Schubert, Warwick Farm. Fitter, has a chance.
Second leg: This second leg is a Benchmark 72 Handicap over 1250-metres:
DUTCHESSE MOSHE ($6.50) has already won 3 of 9, last start most impressive win big Canberra on the synthetic beating Living Doll. Big weight drop, chance here.
VILLA CARLOTTA ($5.50) showed very good ability last year, resumed with 2.4-length 7th Epidemic, Rosehill mid-May. Good form that, respect here.
SHANTOU ($4.60) has 3 wins and 4 placings from 9 starts, beaten 5.4-lengths in Listed Denise’s Joy, Scone before Gosford Class 2 win. Has a chance again.
MOLLYFIED ($5.00) ran 4th Randwick before break, won Rosehill trial before resumed 5th Savatiano, Randwick. Fitter, definite improver here.
ZAFINA ($6.00) quality mare was good record in strong races, ran 3rd Canterbury two starts back then little luck last time. Can win here with right luck.
Third leg: This third leg is a Benchmark 78 Handicap over 1250-metres:
METAMORPHIC ($2.50) resumed from break with 2nd Newcastle before last start big winner Scone maiden when odds-on favourite. Impressive last time, respect.
RED ZEPHYR ($5.00) won two on end before Canterbury 3rd then spell, resumed with 3rd Easy Eddie, Canterbury when closed late. Fitter, each-way claims.
MAD FOR ART ($8.00) has won 3 of 6, ran 3rd Bathurst in a Class 4 before last start 2nd See The Show, Gosford in a 65. Racing well and can figure in this.
PIANISSIMO ($5.00) had quiet trial before eye-catching 2nd Canterbury first-up when well backed at good odds. Just missed last time, has a chance here now fitter.
Final leg: We finish with a Benchmark 70 Handicap over 1900-metres:
BRINGAGEM ($3.20) first-up 2nd Wagga before 2nd Newcastle, last time all-the-way easy Class 2 Gosford winner. Progressive, improving all the time. Go close.
BASE CAMP ($4.80) has 3 wins and 7 seconds from just 18 starts, Warwick Farm 6th was OK before 2nd Canterbury last time when just missed. Chance.
FIREBIRD FLYER ($6.50) ran 3rd Mazaz, Warwick Farm before break, resumed with good 6th Monasterio, Warwick Farm. Fitter now, can win here.
CHLORIDE ($9.00) 6YO who has struck a purple patch of form, winning Lismore and twice at Grafton past three starts. This harder of course but winning form always good form.
ALLCASH ($7.50) Irish import has shown good ability, had good prep last time before break, trial into first-up 6th Kembla. Fitter, will improve, respect.
