Canterbury Quaddie Tips – June 27th

TODAY we have a compact seven-race card of metropolitan racing at Canterbury and it’s now our task to sort out this Quaddie for you:

First leg

We start this Quaddie with a Benchmark 74 Handicap over 1250-metres:

SEAHAMPTON ($4.40) shows promise, only 3 starts, heavily backed huge maiden winner Newcastle back in December, spell, resumed with 8th on heavy ground. Major improver.
ZONK ($4.00) has 2 wins and 5 placings from 10 starts, led when fav and 3rd to Epidemic before 6th at Randwick. Month between runs now, go well.
WOOSHKA ($8.00) won two on end here Dec/Jan, spell, two trials into10th Alassio, Kensington first-up. Fitter now and much better than that.
VIENNA ROMANCE ($5.50) did a good job first-up 3rd Its Time For Magic, Warwick Farm before closing 5th Alassio, Kensington. Go well now fitter again.
DIVINE BREEZE ($7.50) resuming, smart has won 2 of 3 Gosford and Newcastle, 3rd Rosehill the other. Two trials leading in hero, go close if ready.

Second leg

This second leg is a Benchmark 74 Handicap over 1550-metres:

FOREIGN TERRITORY ($2.25) trialled very well before debut, started odds-on, led and close 4th Gosford, again fav led throughout easy win Kensington. Hard to catch again.
DEFT ($3.40) Godolphin runner, easy winner Kembla maiden before last start solid 3rd Popular, Warwick Farm on heavy ground. Hard to beat.
IMPASSE ($4.80) well-bred 3YO has good record, trialled OK into first-up 2nd Feelin The Love, Warwick Farm on heavy ground. Fitter, rates a genuine winning chance.
SHOCK ALERT ($13) has 3 wins and 5 placings from 14 starts, first-up 4th The Avenger, Canterbury was OK before 4.9-length 13th Manolo Blahniq, Rosehill. Not the worst.

Third leg

This third leg is a Benchmark 71 Handicap over 1900-metres:

RENEGED ($3.30) has now had three runs back from a break, latest very good effort 2nd to the smart Penske, Kensington when favourite. Looks ready.
TUNERO ($3.10) Wyong maiden winner on soft four runs back, last few 3rd Augustus, Canterbury before 10th Randwick on heavy ground. Fitter, can win.
BALANSA ($5.50) has 3 wins 2 seconds from 10 starts, ran 2nd in Canberra Stayers before starting fav, led when close 5th Only Tiger, Warwick Farm. Chance.
LIFELINE PRINCESS ($9.00) good effort two runs back Gosford Clas 4 winner then 3rd Canterbury last start. has a chance.
HYPERNICUS ($10) veteran still racing well, last start 3rd on the Kensington track behind Penske was good effort. Respect again.

Final leg

We finish with a Benchmark 75 Handicap over 1250-metres:

WANDER ($2.90) Godolphin runner, 2 wins 2 seconds from 4 starts, odds-on when runaway Hawkesbury 65 winner then fav 2nd Easy Eddie, Canterbury last time. The one to beat.
MAGICUS ($4.60) has 4 wins and 3 seconds from 18 starts, Warwick Farm 5th Soothing in May was good before last start 2nd El Dorado Mine, Warwick Farm heavy ground. Go close.
SPRINTING TO WIN ($8.00) deep into his prep now, Newcastle 3rd two runs back was OK before last start strong winner Kembla when had good backing. Chance again.
MAD FOX ($4.60) 4th Kembla first-up was OK run before last start fav 3rd El Dorado Mine, Warwick Farm heavy ground. Good run, fitter now, wet OK, can win.
