The Wolf’s best bet for Thursday will enjoy a big drop in class at Pakenham. Here are Thursday’s racing tips.

WOLF’S BEST

Eau Chaude will appreciate a huge drop in class from her first up run at Caulfield and should prove too good here. The Warren/Krongold trained gelding showed good ability at his first campaign, winning on debut before finishing third at Moonee Valley behind Written Beauty. Suspect he needed that run first up at the 1200m and second up here with Jamie Kah on, he should go to the front and prove too good.

WOLF’S TIPS

Perfect Zed disappointed slightly when well fancied at the Warrnambool carnival last week but she can bounce back in this much easier race. The application of a tongue tie here is one pointer to an excuse for that slightly subpar effort. First up at Morphettville she was terrific and if she runs up to that here, she wins.
Recommended Price: $1.90
Confidence Level: 4/5

Slepinir makes the switch north to Wyong after debuting in a very handy race at Bendigo. First and second have both run well since and he should only have improved from that outing. Tommy Berry should press forward from barrier one and take plenty of catching.
Recommended Price: $2.70
Confidence Level: 4/5

Cream Rises was a little flattered due to the interference around the home turn on debut but he would have won anyway, and his time was good compared to the stronger grade race on the same card. He is bred to be a superstar being by Fastnet Rock out of a multiple stakes-winning mare, and while he was sent out a good price on debut, the win suggests he has more in store.
Recommended Price: $2.80
Confidence Level: 4/5

Salsa Man looks a solid each way play in the closer at Wyong. The Paul Perry trained gelding closed off well last time at Muswellbrook and typically runs well at this track, having filled a place at eleven of his sixteen appearances here. Kathy O’Hara should position him back of midfield and rattle home late.
Recommended Price: $7.00/2.50
Confidence Level: 3/5

This doesn’t look a particularly strong maiden and Pure Harmony should prove hard to beat on debut. The Rock Hero filly jumped out really well at Flemington recently behind the likes of Dirty Work and Miami Bound, this is a suitable assignment for the grey (you won’t miss her in the run) on debut.
Recommended Price: $4.00
Confidence Level: 3/5
