Here’s a look at Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane Quaddies for Saturday! Good luck!
Best: September Run – budding champion filly and was eye-catching second to Nature Strip in the Lightning, won three of four this track.
Imaging – super run when second in the Orr after racing wide, no cover the entire trip. Showed plenty of fight, this a little shorter than he likes, but will be hitting the line hard.
Swats That – smart filly Group 1 placed at last two starts, including second to September Run before a spell. Wide gate could be a plus.
Celebrity Queen – finished hard to dead-heat in the Oakleigh Plate. Can only be fitter and quality mare in form.
Numbers: 14, 3, 18, 5.
Best: Silent Sovereign – leaders got away when jock lost spot on turn latest, when closed for fourth to Quantum Mechanic. Third-up now, proven this grade and senior goes on.
Lunakorn – cramped for room and once got going did her best work late when third in the Mannerism, extra 200m here is a plus.
Sovereign Award – overraced and still fought on strongly in the Mannerism. Fitter for that second-up run and likely leader.
Numbers: 2, 7, 1.
Best: Fifty Stars – won this race last year and found the 1600m too short last week. Fitter for two runs and can race closer from the good gate.
Angel Of Truth – couldn’t stay in touch and finished harder than most when 6th behind Paradee, third-up and this distance is ideal.
Shared Ambition – just kept finding when second to Paradee. Waller-Zahra good alley and can get the gun run.
Steel Prince – on the heels of placegetters in the Peter Young after having a tough three-wide run. Races well here and can only be fitter.
Numbers: 3, 6, 11, 8.
Personal – Oaks winner found one a bit nippy when a first-up second to Zou Dancer. Fitter for the run and out to a mile will suit.
Miss Guggenheim – no luck behind Yes Baby Yes and appeared to have something to offer.
Yes Baby Yes – game win, worked sat outside the leader and fought hard at Caulfield.
Starelle – still a Maiden, but placed at this level. Third to Zou Dancer in the Vanity and will be better for fitter for the and the mile is perfect.
Numbers: 1, 10, 2, 6.
Best: Emanate – easy win last start, ideal draw for third-up run.
Fiesta – first up since November trialled twice most recent was allowed to run to the line, lovely big mare and up to this.
Positive Peace – led at a solid tempo in the Millie Fox and knocked-up. Can only be fitter and second-up form is very good.
Numbers: 6, 2, 1.
Best: Aegon – unbeaten in five career starts and beat most of these last start in the Hobartville.
Lion’s Roar – great first-up run behind Aegon, Group 1 placed at 2000m so the mile looks perfect and second-up winner.
North Pacific – had every chance when second to Aegon, travelled in the run didn’t sprint as quickly. Blinkers go on and gives every impression the mile will suit.
Mo’Unga – game first-up run behind Tagaloa in Flemington Group 3. Looked a shot duck at the 300m, but kept finding.
Numbers: 1, 6, 3, 7.
8-Canterbury Stakes (Group 1, 1300m)
Best: Bivouac – found them too slick in the Lightning, but would have liked to see him do more. Out to 1300m is a definite plus and has the runs on the board.
Dreamforce – resumes and nice trial behind Samadoubt when not extended. Super first-up record and proven at this level.
Savatiano – mare in great form with wins at last two starts. Five Group 2 wins and yet to crack it for a major. Well drawn and Bowman to steer.
Samadoubt – first-up since October and goes in on the strength of his trials. Yes only a trial, but donkey-licked them in his 1100m heat at Canterbury when eased down.
Numbers: 1, 2, 8, 3.
Best: She’s Ideel – got back, hit traffic but once clear found the line strongly. Steps-up from 1300m which should work in her favour.
Polly Grey – there was a lot to like about the way she finished off for third to Nimalee at the end of 1400m. This is her best distance and she gets a jockey upgrade.
Nimalee – honest mare scored strong first-up win. Races on speed and has a good turn of foot.
Le Lude – nice fourth to Subpoenaed in G2 Millie Fox. Third-up now and can box-seat from the good draw.
Numbers: 5, 13, 12, 16.
Best: Tesarc – won this track and distance and then did a bit wrong for the kid last start. Senior goes on and drop back in distance should help.
Flying Crackerjack – first-up and was three wide no cover, hit the front and tired late for third here. Didn’t shirk and sure to be improved.
Only Wanna Sing – won last two in the north. Bolted in a Rocky Open Hcp with 60kgs. Will lead or race on the bunny. Rocky is usually a firm track so should handle this surface.
Numbers: 4, 5, 2.
Best: Guise – fast finishing third last start. She was well back and then lost ground in the straight when getting clear air.
Joymaker – three runs from a break and latest just failed over this trip. She has good record this track which is half the battle.
Hallowed Girl – ran away from them over 1600m last start to make it two wins in a row. Mare in great form.
Stardome – tempo didn’t suit when first-up over the mile here. Longer trip is in his favour, winner here and rails draw will see him box-seat.
Numbers: 4, 5, 8, 3.
Best: Golly Hutt – second-up run was super. Out the back and finished hard when the race was over. Gets an extra 200m and 3kg claim brings in well.
Kubrick – felt the pinch late when third this class and distance. That was first run since November, fitter and up in weight, but can carry it.
Wren’s Day – too far back when close second here last start. Loomed up to win, but just failed and possibly didn’t give his all. Fitter and the addition of winkers might help him put in more.
Rebel Salute – ploughed through a heavy10 to win at Doomben last start. In the money seven of eight and 3kg claims is a plus.
Numbers: 1, 2, 6, 4.
Best: Georgie’s Pride – won two in a row and then beaten by a smart one in Miami Fleiss. Little query at 1400m with the big weight, but three runs should have her primed.
Harlequin Field – showed good gate speed and then led all of the way to win a Gold Coast Maiden with plenty in hand. Well-bred and has upside.
Back When – placed this track before a spell. Latest overraced and was green yet still fought hard for second at Sunshine Coast. Winkers come off, which might help settle better.
Tara Jasmine – led to win at Grafton then an eye-catcher when flew home from near the rear at Coffs Harbour. Would like to see ridden quiet, but jock usually prefers on speed.
Numbers: 1, 5, 7, 3.
