The Wolf’s is a Stakes placed 3 year old who drops all the way back down to maiden class today. Here are Monday’s racing tips.

WOLF’S BEST

Despite still being a maiden after seven bites at the cherry, this really does look the race for Horrifying to break through. In his last three starts, he has run 3rd behind Crosshaven in the Group 3 Carbine Club, 5th in the Sandown Guineas and made up plenty of ground last start at Sandown in BM70 grade. He drops all the way back to a maiden here and really should be able to rid himself of that elusive maiden tag today.

WOLF’S TIPS

After winning her debut start at Warwick Farm in December, Fifteen Aria followed that up with an even effort at Randwick two weeks later in BM72 grade, plugging away in the straight to finish 2L off the winner. She was quickly sent out for a freshen-up and resumes here in what looks a winnable race first-up. She has trialled twice in the last few weeks and should be fit enough to win this upon resumption.

Reckoning resumed from a six month spell last start at Wangaratta, putting in a real black booker run when taking off from near last and flashing home to finish less than a length behind the winner. He looks likely to settle a bit closer today from a slightly softer draw and now fitter second-up, can break through for his first win this prep.

Killourney impressed at his first Australian start, sent around odds of $21 and finishing off strongly to end up in 3rd beaten only half a length. He will no doubt take plenty of improvement from that run (considering it was his first start in 21 months) and despite rising 7kg on that effort, this looks a great opportunity to put his first Australian win on the board.
