Here’s a look at Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane Quaddies for Saturday! Good luck!
Caulfield
6-Futurity Stakes (Group 1, 1400m)
Best: Behemoth – hard to go past the big fella. Easy first-up win at Morphettville, dual Group 1 winner this track and distance.
Arcadia Queen – won the G1 Mackinnon (2000m) before a spell. Quality mare, two from three when first-up.
Ole Kirk – dual G1 winning three-year-old, including Guineas this track before a spell. Not suited 1200m when resumed, closed well and can only be fitter.
Numbers: 1, 6, 8.
7-Blue Diamond Stakes (Group 1, 1200m)
Best: Anamoe – savaged the line when second to General Beau last start. Probably should have won after missing the start and step-up to 1200m is ideal.
Arcaded – relaxed midfield and let down strongly for strong win here last start. Unbeaten in two runs.
Enthaar – passed her vet check, but soreness is always a concern with babies. Eased down to win here last start when made it two from two.
Artorius – did it tough, three wide and still gapped them at Sandown over 1300m. Showed a great turn of foot, blinkers go on and this colt should be getting home hard.
Numbers: 5, 14, 13, 7.
8-Oakleigh Plate (Group 1, 1100m)
Best: Anders – resumes, speed to burn and trialled strongly at Geelong. Bossy in the saddle for the featherweight 50kgs.
Dirty Work – was third in the G1 Manikato before a spell. Trialled twice in Sydney and rails draw is a big plus.
Celebrity Queen – close second in Perth G1 three from three when resuming and very honest mare.
Zoutori – Wonder Woman to ride, plenty of weight, but proven performer at elite level and first-up record is top class.
Numbers: 18, 2, 7, 1.
9-Peter Young Stakes (Group 2, 1800m)
Best: Shared Ambition – nice return win at Randwick. Group 2 winner before a spell and unbeaten in two runs this track.
Homesman – first-up since November, has plenty of quality and best runs are usually early in his prep.
Nonconformist – kept finding when first-up third to best Of Days here. Steps-up from the mile, which will work in his favour and usually performs around Caulfield.
Angel Of Truth – his first-up run in the Orr was a pass. Slow away before working to the line okay. Longer trip a plus and fitness level also up.
Numbers: 8, 3, 9, 4.
Rosehill
6-Parramatta Cup (Listed, 1900m)
Best: Sacramento – form impossible to fault in three runs this prep including wins at last two. Heavy track only query.
The Lord Mayor – raced near the rear when resumed behind stablemate Shared Ambition. Fitter and extra distance will work.
Dadoozdart – didn’t fire in Melbourne at first two runs from a break gets out to a more suitable distance now. Two-time winner in heavy.
Numbers: 11, 5, 9.
7-Hobartville Stakes (Group 2, 1400m)
Best: North Pacific – chased home Peltzer last start when got too far back. Expect will be closer this time, likes heavy and fitter for the run.
Peltzer – had all the favours and scored good win in Group 3 last start and also swims.
Aegon – unbeaten in four career starts in Kiwi land, including Group 1 two back at Riccarton.
Lion’s Roar – close second in Group 1 Champion before a spell. Cruise around under own steam in Randwick trial. First-up and heavy track winner.
Numbers: 3, 4, 1, 7.
Best: Handle the Truth – swimmer with great first-up record and gets in well with the 3kg claim.
Emanate – up in grade, but drops 6kgs after solid third at Randwick, promising mare.
Munitions – Godolphin import and was okay at Flemington for first Australian start. Well hidden in soft trial by J-Mac, who sticks for this.
Spaceboy – not a lot of luck last start when second to Written Beauty. Wide gate might be a plus by this race and does get through the heavy.
Numbers: 1, 12, 4, 7.
Best: Starspangled Rodeo – first-up run was luckless and last start the 1250m was too short. Closed well at Canterbury and should be close to peak now.
Fulmina – racing well in tougher company and found the 2000m too far latest. Back in distance and heavy track a plus.
Wheelhouse – placed in Listed company last prep. At first run since April bolted in a Randwick Maiden. Waller trained colt with plenty of upside and also wet form.
Lackeen – wraps are big on the import, trial was solid, but won one race. J-Mac-Godolphin so goes in.
Numbers: 2, 5, 16, 4.
Eagle Farm
Best: Patches – looks well in here on the minimum. Bridesmaid last five starts down in grade, good alley and well-weighted.
Syd’s Footprints – great second-up run when third to Howwonderfullifeis. Trapped wide zoomed on to lead and then tenacious at the end.
Flying Crackerjack – not far away in one of these before a spell. May not match them early, but should be hitting the line hard.
What The Fuss – on a seven day back-up and had every chance last week this class. Drops back from 1350m, which not ideal, weak lot though so just makes the cut.
Numbers: 6, 7, 5, 3.
7-Three-year-Old Handicap (1600m)
Best: Jetty – led and brave when run down by Tycoon Evie last start. Good gate this time and a sit could work to advantage.
The Cullinan – dominant Maiden win, then closed strongly for third to Way Beyond at the Sunshine Coast. Meets that horse 4kgs better and has more upside.
Cosmic Gossip – been up a while and broke through at Sunshine Coast latest. Has won here which is a plus.
Calm Seeker – slow away when first-up here last start behind Tycoon Evie. Never in the hunt, yet not disgraced, fitter and will run the trip right out.
Numbers: 1, 8, 4, 7.
8-Three-Year-Old Handicap (1000m)
Best: Magic Delta – three runs in were solid and felt the pinch under 58kgs last start. Kept fighting and in well with 3kg claim.
Snitzari – track downgrade will help Snitzari and a more positive ride. No urgency early and ended up trapped deep last start, when betting drifter.
Best Ever – former Victorian and won Maiden over 1400m before unplaced at the Valley. Had plenty to offer in his Murwillumbah trial.
Better Get Set – first-up since November and won a BM70 before as spell. Third in Sunny Coast trial, when not asked to do much.
Numbers: 6, 5, 3, 8.
Best: Stuttering – placed last three starts latest this track and distance and drops 2.5kgs on that for the apprentice rider.
Maddi Rocks – edged out by Sea Raider last start and meets that horse better at the weights, anything other than a good track is a negative.
Tesarc – in great form winning two of last three starts, this track. Jumps in grade, but drops 4kgs and any cut in the track will be a plus.
Baroda – no surprise to see him improve. Forget run last start when three wide throughout. Previous run here was good and should be close to peak now.
Numbers: 1, 10, 13, 11.
