A big Sunday of racing lies ahead, with the running of the Group 3 Black Opal Stakes from Canberra. Here are Sunday’s racing tips.

Although Black Magnum was beaten a tick under 4 lengths last start, the run was full of merit and he finished runner up behind the very handy Emnante, who has amassed five wins and four placings from 10 career starts. He should take some improvement from that run and given he is likely to get the run of the race today from the inside draw, he can go one better here.
Recommended Price: $4.50
Confidence Level: 4/5

Temoin Chaud resumed from a four-month spell at Wagga on February 21 and couldn’t have gone much better, sitting outside the leader and kicking away for a commanding 1.82L win. She steps up to a BM65 today but in a race that doesn’t look to have much speed, jockey Billy Owen should be able to cross from Barrier 11 and give the rest of the field plenty to run down at a price.
Recommended Price: $7.00/$2.30
Confidence Level: 3/5

If Skelm can find anything like his old form he would easily beat this field. This time twelve months ago he was running third in a Mornington Cup against much better grade than this. Third up and out in trip, he deserves another chance.
Recommended Price: $4.40
Confidence Level: 3/5

Brave Song has improved of late finishing in the placings in his last three, including a last start 2nd in the Listed Barton Stakes behind Blazejowski (who went on to run an admirable 5th in the Group 1 Orr Stakes behind Streets of Avalon). He looks very well in at the weights and this is one of only two rides for James McDonald today, so The Wolf is more than happy to be on.
Recommended Price: $5.50
Confidence Level: 3.5/5
