The Wolf’s best bet grabbed his first win last time out in really impressive style. Here are Friday’s racing tips.

WOLF’S BEST

Mightybeel broke his maiden in dominant style last start at this track and should be able to repeat the dose stepping up in trip. The Chris Waller-trained gelding is bred to appreciate this trip and has raced well in all conditions. It wouldn’t surprise to see him head on a Derby campaign following this.
Recommended Price: $2.50
Confidence Level: 4.5/5

WOLF’S TIPS

Hot Bahama has been racing very well for new trainer James Ponsonby and gets a chance to record another win in this fairly weak affair. The British bred gelding went down narrowly last time out at Wagga, getting out to a mile suits and he comes in well under the weights here.
Recommended Price: $2.25
Confidence Level: 4/5

Wagga trainer Peter J Morgan only has a small team in work but he has a terrific strike rate, and he might have unearthed a promising one in Jack’s All Magic. His recent trial at this track was terrific; going to the line under very little pressure and finishing a close fourth behind the smart Prince of Helena and local star Spunlago. It bodes well for a strong debut in a winnable race.
Recommended Price: $3.50
Confidence Level: 4/5

Sartorial Splendor is a very fast horse on his day and flies fresh. The John Sadler trained gelding has a particular liking for this track as well, with two wins from four starts here. The Brazen Beau four year old jumped out nicely at Caulfield last week and should prove hard to beat.
Recommended Price: $4.00
Confidence Level: 3.5/5

Strange Charm saves her best form for this track and should take plenty of beating tonight with Nash Rawiller up. Forget the last start run at Randwick, the prior back to back wins here are good form for this. Nash will go straight to the front and should take a lot of catching.
Recommended Price: $3.70
Confidence Level: 3.5/5

Playoffs stepped up to the 2500m for the first time last start and was far from disgraced behind Starcaster. He didn’t wear the blinkers there, however – understandable as he was stepping up in trip – but he gets the shades back on tonight, and he is a vastly superior conveyance with them on. John Allen will need some luck from out wide but he is a superb rider of stayers.
Recommended Price: $4.50
Confidence Level: 3.5/5
