The Wolf’s best bet finds a suitable race at Kembla Grange. Here are Thursday’s racing tips.

Mirror One threw away a debut win due to immaturity but looks well placed to make amends here. The Matthew Dunn trained three year old settled four back on the fence and was held up around the turn, then got unbalanced at a key point in the straight. Despite that, he knuckled down well to finish second. With that run under his belt and an ideal draw, he looks well placed to make amends.

Beatrix can bounce back to her best second up. The Tony Noonan trained mare was a touch disappointing last time out when covering ground at Bendigo, but has been back to the trials and looked terrific winning over I Am Someone. She is a dead set wet tracker so conditions will be perfect for her.
Recommended Price: $4.60
Confidence Level: 3.5/5

Happy to play a couple at decent prices in the last at Cranbourne over the 2060m. Both Darlamax and Duke of Plumpton are tough wet trackers who will appreciate a drop in class here. Both also have the benefit of senior riders taking over for claiming apprentices. Suspect it’s survival of the fittest here.
Recommended Price: $14/6.50
Confidence Level: 3.5/5

Hugh Bowman makes the trip down to Kembla for two rides on Thursday and Deadly Impact certainly looks the best value of them. The new acquisition to the Matt Dunn stable has finished second at both runs this time in and should appreciate getting out to the 2000m here. This is a winnable race.
Recommended Price: $4.00
Confidence Level: 4/5
