The Wolf’s best bet looks primed to score second up at Canterbury. Here are Friday’s racing tips.

WOLF’S BEST

Equation could not have been more impressive at his first start for new trainer Annabel Neasham at Gosford. Despite missing the kick slightly and being held up around the turn, he knuckled down late to get the nose in front. The winner now of two of his three starts, he should only be improved from that and from barrier 2, Jason Collett will give him every chance.

WOLF’S TIPS

Tuscan Leather comes to the races well prepared because even though he hasn’t had any official trials, he has had seven jumpouts, the most recent of which was a comfortable all the way win on his home track at Mornington. From barrier 1, Billy Egan should find the front and prove very hard to run down.
Recommended Price: $3.00
Confidence Level: 4/5

Accelerant is on to his third trainer in four starts but could hardly be in better hands than with Mark Schmetzer, who has a terrific strike rate in the last year. The big son of Sebring has placed at seven of his nine career starts including some very handy Victorian maidens. His recent trial at Muswellbrook was good and he is ideally drawn.
Recommended Price: $4.00
Confidence Level: 3.5/5

Favreau looks a great chance here despite stepping up in grade from his first up run. That was in a maiden at Randwick but the form out of it looks really good. Towards the end of last prep Favreau was running competitively in some Group level three-year-old races so he clearly has above average ability. Ideally drawn, he should take plenty of beating here.

Saint Eustace has had two runs at 2800m and both have resulted in placings in Listed company. Stepping up to 3000m for the first time against much weaker grade, he looks well suited. Jamie Kah will just need some luck early from barrier 7, but no one is riding better at present.
Recommended Price: $4.50
Confidence Level: 3.5/5

Keen on the chances of Give Me Ten stepping up to 2040m for the first time. Being by Tavistock out of a Zabeel mare, he has the pedigree to stay and he has had an ideal grounding for this race, posting back to back wins at Pakenham over a mile. Jason Benbow should go straight to the front and take plenty of running down.
Recommended Price: $4.50
Confidence Level: 3.5/5

Zoofari led everywhere bar the winning post first up at Eagle Farm, the work she did from the wide draw just taking a toll late and enabling a swooper to catch her. From barrier 3 tonight, she should get a more economical run and with the fitness benefit from that, should be too good for this lot.
Recommended Price: $2.10
Confidence Level: 4/5
