It’s one of Australia’s most viral videos, and for years there have been many claims surrounding the whereabouts of the ‘Democracy Manifest’ guy — the intriguing character who delivered the famous line, “What is the charge? Eating a meal? A succulent Chinese meal?”

The original video arguably brought about as many questions as it did laughs. It had been rumoured that he had passed away more than 15 years ago, that his name was Paul Charles Dozsa, that he was from Hungary and that he was a chess grandmaster.

Sportsbet can confirm in an exclusive interview that all of those myths are untrue — ‘Democracy Manifest’ guy is alive and well in Brisbane, and sat down for a tell-all interview. Although to be honest we are still none the wiser about what is actually going on here! Some things are just better off a mystery.

“Ladies and gentleman, I am Mr. Democracy Manifest! Not some Hungarian chess player, tis I! There’s so many ways that you can manifest democracy, aren’t there?”
