South Sydney look poised to send Wayne Bennett to another Grand Final and a shot at history in his last season with the Rabbitohs.

South Sydney

South Sydney are not being respected at all in this market.

They are without Latrell Mitchell but considering the advantage teams off a rest have in preliminary finals, this line should not be as close to pick ‘em as it is.

Teams who have rested a week are 9-1 in the last 10 preliminary finals. Souths have been both a better attacking and defensive team than Manly this year with the Sea Eagles notably conceding 18-plus in 12 of their last 15.

The Rabbitohs have a tremendous record against Manly including wins in the last four and have been victorious in 10 of their last 14. Manly have covered just four of 13 as an underdog and just one of eight off a double digit win.

They play badly at Suncorp and they can be bullied by an aggressive defence.

Souths are a great play.

Total Match Points

This match projects as a high-scoring affair.

Both teams sit in the Top 3 in scoring this year with both teams big over sides. The Sea Eagles are 17-9 over while the Rabbitohs are 15-10 over. Souths have scored 32-plus in nine of their last 12 while Manly have conceded 18-plus in 12 of 15.

The over is 20-8 when Souths are off scoring 16 or fewer while it hits at 66% when Souths are off scoring 20 or fewer. The over is 16-4 when Manly play at night.

Both attacks are too good not to see plenty of points.

South Sydney 13+

Big Win Little Win

It would not surprise at all if South Sydney ran away with this late. Souths have won 15 of their 25 games this year by 13-plus. Manly have lost nine games this year and eight have been by double digits. Four of the last eight preliminary finals have had margins of 13-plus.
