On top of the regular old head to head and line markets, there are a myriad of ways to bet on the Super Bowl this Monday. The Wolf breaks down his best Super Bowl player prop bets and MVP tips below.

MVP

Both Brady and Mahomes have won the Super Bowl MVP award, Brady four times and Mahomes last year. The award has gone to a player from the winning team every year since 1971. While it is possible for an offensive player other than the quarterback to win, it is highly unlikely.

Patriots receiver Julian Edelman won it in Super Bowl LIII with 141 yards, which was more than 50% of New England’s yards through the air. It is unlikely that any one player will dominate the receiving stats to such an extent in this game though.

Mahomes at $1.91 is reasonable value, but if you like Tampa to win then a huge defensive effort will be needed, so one of Shaquil Barrett or Jason Pierre-Paul could spring an upset.

Tom Brady Pass Attempts

Unless Tampa can get way in front early, Brady will need to keep on throwing the ball. Brady has thrown under this number in 10 of 20 games he completed this season. Of the games he attempted less than 40 passes, seven were double digit wins, two came in losses against the Saints, and the other was the NFC Championship where Tampa led for almost the entire game. Expect Tom to throw early and often.

Tom Brady Pass Attempts

Darrel Williams Rushing Yards

Tampa have been a dominant run defence all season and they should be able to shut down Williams, who will likely lose snaps to a fully fit Clyde Edwards-Helaire. With the Chiefs also down personnel on the offensive line, they will likely struggle to move the ball on the ground against Vita Vea, Ndamakong Suh and company.

Rob Gronkowski Receiving Yards

Gronk is possibly the greatest tight end of all time, but while his blocking is still a strength, he offers little as a pass catching threat. He has been targeted just seven times this post season and hauled in only two of them. Cameron Brate represents a much stronger threat in the pass game for the Bucs.
