The Wolf filled up again with his Tuesday NBA tips with LeBron going berserk against his former team and Myles Turner overcoming a slow start to hit the 20+ pt mark again.
On Wednesday, The Wolf is looking for Jerome Robinson to continue his form in the Wizards starting lineup and Serge Ibaka to take control of the Clippers offence without Paul George / Kawhi Leonard. Here are Wednesday’s NBA tips.
The improving 6-9 Houston Rockets will be looking for a third straight victory on Wednesday as they host the 3-9 Wizards and former Rocket Russ Westbrook.
In the Rockets last victory, a 133-108 thrashing of the Mavericks, DeMarcus Cousins turned back to clock with a vintage performance. Boogie ripped apart the Dallas defence with 28 points and 17 rebounds.
Eric Gordon also added 33 points in 30 minutes, hitting 10 of 17 from the field and nailing 6 threes.
The Rockets should also be boosted by the return of Oladipo as he doesn’t play back to backs and potentially Christian Wood as well.
If Wood does return, that would hurt Cousins’ scoring potential so that’s something to monitor before tip-off.
While for the Wizards, it’s obviously been a tough season with injuries and they finally returned to action after 6 straight postponed games.
They went down to the Spurs 121-101 in their return to action. Bradley Beal notched up 31 points but a 34.5 point line will likely be a tough ask considering he’s fallen under that mark in 8 of 12 games this season.
Westbrook also continued his shooting troubles with just 3 of 11 from the field in 25 minutes. However, The Wolf is predicting that he’ll be a bit more motivated against his former team.
However, Jerome Robinson should be a target in this matchup as he’ll likely get the start again. He put up 16 points against the Spurs and took 15 field goal attempts and 10 threes.
So the shooting volume is there and he should be playing 30+ mins as the Wizards are seriously undermanned at the moment.
While the 13-4 Clippers have won seven straight games, their season is about to get much tougher without Paul George and Kawhi Leonard for the next week or so.
Both Clipper superstars will be sidelined due to NBA health and safety protocols. So it’s a bit unknown on when they’ll return.
But the good news is that most of the Clippers lineup is in for a large boost in minutes and usage, especially Serge Ibaka.
The former Raptor has played well in his last 2 outings with George/Leonard, scoring 17 points against the Thunder and hitting 7 of 8 from the field in both games.
While he hasn’t hit the 20 point mark this season, without Leonard and George on the floor, his chances of breaking the drought are increased significantly.
Another factor that should work in his favour is the Atlanta Hawks also have their issues with injuries and key players potentially missing from their lineup.
They currently have four players on the questionable list for this matchup in Capela, Young, Gallinari and Reddish.
So this should be a fairly easy matchup for Ibaka, especially if Capela can’t suit up.
