Wednesday’s NBA slate features two games on ESPN/Kayo as the Boston Celtics host the Philadelphia 76ers and The Wolf is targeting Kemba Walker’s assist form at the moment. Then, the Bucks are expected to handle the Warriors in the afternoon, with Jrue Holiday doing most of the damage.
Here are The Wolf’s NBA tips for Wednesday.
The 32-17 Milwaukee Bucks head to the Chase Centre on Wednesday as they look to continue the Warriors woes.
Golden State has lost its last three games, including a shocker against Toronto (130-77). Their leaky defence will likely be an issue against the Bucks as well.
The Greek Freak is expected back from a knee injury after missing the Bucks one-point win over the Kings on the weekend.
If Giannis does take the court, he should enjoy a very favourable matchup against a Warriors defence that’s allowed 30 points per game against power forwards in the last month.
The Warriors defensive struggles don’t stop there, however, as they’ve allowed 25.2 ppg to point guards in the last month as well.
So The Wolf is keen to target the in-form Jrue Holiday and his generous points line.
In his last four games – which have all been on the road, he’s easily cleared 18.5 points and hit the 30+ mark against the Kings last time out.
After a slowish start in a new offence, Holiday is starting to really find his rhythm as a Buck and that should continue in Wednesday’s matchup with the reeling Warriors.
The traditional East rivalry between the Celtics and 76ers continues on Wednesday at TD Garden.
Boston hasn’t had much of a challenge in their last two games, easily beating the injury-riddled Hornets and Rockets.
But they could be getting the 76ers at the right time.
Philadelphia comes off a 116-100 defeat against the Grizzlies and with Joel Embiid sidelined, their offence couldn’t get going all game.
Embiid is likely to play against Boston and he loves this matchup. However, the 76ers will probably stay safe and not push his minutes above the 30 mark, especially with a playoff run coming up.
Despite the Celtics playing a few easy games lately, the form of Kemba Walker is an intriguing play in this game.
Over the last two weeks, the 76ers defence has allowed 9.2 assists against point guards and that includes 10 dimes by Ja Morant in their latest game.
Walker hasn’t been at his best shooting wise this season but his assist numbers are looking strong at the moment.
In his last three games, he’s hit six or more assists and he should enjoy more of the same against Philadelphia here.
