The Minnesota Timberwolves have had a shocking season, but with a new coach on board I’m expecting KAT to put up some huge numbers when he faces the Wizards. Here are The Wolf’s NBA tips for Sunday.

Best Bet

It’s been a terrible season for Minnesota. KAT gets injured early, returns but then contracts coronavirus. D’Angelo Russell injured, Malik Beasley suspended and Ryan Saunders sacked as Head Coach.

It’s only two games in under a new coach, but you can already tell that Karl-Anthony Towns’ usage is right up and now with Beasley out for the next 12 games this will increase even more.

Towns had 11 assists against the Bucks in his first game with new Head Coach Chris Finch, and managed five assists against the Bulls but it should have been more – foul trouble restricted KAT to just 31 minutes.

The Timberwolves face the Washington Wizards who have turned their season around, but genuinely struggle in the five-spot with Mo Wagner currently starting there. As a result over the last month they concede points to centres 17% above average, rebounds 13% above average and assists 9% above average.

Towns hasn’t cleared 27.5 points in his last four games, nor 10.5 rebounds in his last two games – but under the new gameplan The Wolf is keen for Towns to have 5+ assists. 8+ assists at $4.50 appears good value, while a small play at the $14 for a triple double couldn’t hurt.

James Harden has been incredible since arriving in Brooklyn in a new role, and will look to lead the Nets to another win when the face the Mavericks.

Brooklyn has won the last eight games with Harden averaging 26.8 points, 9.4 rebounds and 10.6 from those wins, while the Mavericks looked real ordinary in their recent loss to the 76ers.

With Kristaps Porzingis in doubt still, the $1.72 on offer for a Brooklyn win on their home floor appears great value, with the potential of this being crunched in to $1.50 at the tip.

As for Harden to grab 8+ rebounds, he’s done this in 6 of his last 8 games which includes two triple-doubles. The Mavericks is the easiest team in the NBA for shooting guards to rebound against over the last month, conceding rebounds to the 2-guard spot 26% above average.

With this in mind, The Wolf’s keen for the Player Performance double of Harden to pull down 8 rebounds in a Brooklyn win at $2.63.
