What are sportsbet.com.au’s different Sports bet types?

Sports wagers can be placed online or by calling 1800 138 238. Minimum bet on the Internet is $0.50 and the minimum amount invested on a single bet or multiple bets from a single telephone call to the Sports telephone betting number is $50 cumulative spend per phone call (eg. 5 x $10 bets is OK).

Sportsbet.com.au accepts wagers on Australian and International sporting, political and entertainment events. All betting options are available on the internet and phone, except for Betting in the Run which is only available over the phone.

Phone betting is available up until ‘kick off’ and internet betting closes at the advertised start time.

Single Bets

Sportsbet.com.au accepts single wagers on all markets that are open. For example, single bets include betting on a team to win the NRL Premiership or on a player to score the first goal in an AFL match. A common single bet is a Head to Head wager in an AFL match.

Line or Handicap Betting

What is line betting? It’s when a match is handicapped by the bookmaker. If one side is considered to be 5.5 points better than the opposing team, you can wager that this team will win by more than 5.5 points. You can also back the opponent to lose by no more than 5.5 points or win the match. Prices for this form of betting are usually around $1.90 for both sides.

Margin Betting

Margin Betting is where you pick the winning margin on an event between two teams. Margin Betting is available on AFL, Rugby League, Rugby Union and Basketball. The margins are set by sportsbet.com.au and are usually as follows:

• AFL: 1-39, 40+ and Draw
• Rugby League and Union: 1-12, 13+ and Draw
• Basketball: 1-10, 11+

When a Draw option is offered for Margin betting, it will exclude any extra time that might be played.

MultiBets

Increase your odds by multibetting your wagers. You can take an AFL team to win a match into an NRL team to win the Premiership into a golfer to win a tournament. For example: If you choose your favourite AFL team at $3.30 to win a match in a particular round, and your favourite NRL team to win the Premiership at $5.00 and a golfer to win a tournament at $7.00, and place a wager of $20, you have increased the odds to $115.50 (3.30×5.00×7.00) to win $2310 ($20x$115.50). You just multiply the odds and that’s what we pay, no reduced dividends.

For Rugby Union, Rugby League, and Australian Rules, Scorecast combines The first try/goal scorer with a margin market.

For Soccer, Scorecast combines first goal scorer with final score. Simply select who you think will get the first goal, then the final score of the match from the drop down boxes.  Your odds will be given, and once you have entered your stake, the potential returns will be shown.
