Scorchers will account for Sydney Thunder
The in-form Perth Scorchers are tipped to stretch their Big Bash winning streak to four games, with online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au starting them as $1.80 favourites to beat the Sydney Thunder ($2.00) at ANZ Stadium on Wednesday night.
“Perth have really hit their straps and are an ominous proposition for the Thunder, who’ve dropped three straight games themselves,” sportsbet.com.au’s Ben Hawes said. “The odds rightly reflect where both sides are at right now.”
Despite a last innings duck, Chris Gayle is the $2.50 favourite to top score for the Thunder, followed by Usman Khawaja and Daniel Smith, who are both $5.00 chances. For the Scorchers, big hitting opener Herschelle Gibbs is the $3.40 favourite for most runs with Marcus North ($4.25), Mitchell Marsh ($5.50) and Simon Katich ($6.50) the other leading contenders.
Perth are now into $4.00 equal favourites with Hobart to win the Big Bash crown following their excellent run while the Thunder continue to drift, out to $11 and only ahead of the Brisbane Heat.
